State the location and function of the prostate gland present in the male reproductive system.

The prostate gland is located below the urinary bladder and surrounds the upper part of the urethra in the male reproductive system.
It produces a slightly alkaline fluid that forms part of the semen. It neutralises acid in female's vagina.
